What data do we collect?
Ama Foundry collects personal identification information: This includes your name, business name, email address, phone number, billing and shipping address, IP address, your computer MAC address, time zone, VAT number, and any information regarding the fonts we are licensing to you.
We do not hold your payment or card information if you make purchases on our website. Payment processing information is directly transferred to Stripe for payments and is secured by SSL encryption as well as a vault system for digital privacy protection.
How do we collect your data?
You directly provide Ama Foundry with most of the information we collect from you. We collect data and process it when you register online or place an order for any of our products or services. We also collect your information if you voluntarily complete a customer survey or provide feedback on any of our message boards or via email or if you use or view our website via your browser’s cookies.
Ama Foundry may also receive your data indirectly from the following sources:
Cloudflare, Render,Google Cloud, Sentry, Mailchimp and Stripe, and may include others in the future.
How will we use your data?
Ama Foundry collects your data so that we can:
- Manage your account.
- Process your order (issuing an invoice, license(s), sending a package).
- Send you free printed matter by post.
- Email you our seasonal newsletter (that you freely sign up for and opt out of) with our latest stories and products.
- Allow you to download the fonts you licensed from us.
If you agree, Ama Foundry will share your basic information with our partner companies so that they may offer you their products and services: We run our web shop using services provided by Fontdue. They also have access to our website administration to ensure stability. We will also share your basic information with the payment processing company Stripe. And when Ama Foundry processes your order, it may send your data to, and use the resulting information from, credit reference agencies to prevent fraudulent purchases. We may share your address with postal services (DHL, PostNL and similar companies) in the occasion we send you items by post. We will also share your data with our accountant for VAT and TAX purposes.
How do we store your data?
Your personal data is securely stored on servers provided by Fontdue, in datacenters located in the United States. Ama Foundry is committed to ensure your personal information is secure. Ama Foundry will keep your order information and personal information. This information will be kept indefinitely for you to access your user account, fonts and font upgrades and history, and for our VAT and TAX administration.
Who can access your information?
We will never sell or otherwise give away your information to third parties. We are committed to protecting your data, not distributing it to others. We repeat that we are legally obliged to transfer some of your information to the local tax authorities, and our tax accountants (Financiële Fabriek) who also have access to some of the billing details.
What are your data protection rights?
Ama Foundry would like to make sure you are fully aware of all your data protection rights. Every user is entitled to the following:
- The right to access – You have the right to request Ama Foundry for copies of your personal data. We may charge you a small fee for this service.
- The right to rectification – You have the right to request that Ama Foundry correct any information you believe is inaccurate. You also have the right to request Ama Foundry to complete information you believe is incomplete.
- The right to erasure – You have the right to request that Ama Foundry erase your personal data, under certain conditions.
- The right to restrict processing – You have the right to request that Ama Foundry restrict the processing of your personal data, under certain conditions.
